Aprilaire E50 Dehumidifier
I got tired of buying cheap dehumidifiers from retail outlets that failed after a couple of years and could not be serviced so I bought the Aprilaire E50 Dehumidifier, which is expensive but comes with a 5 year warranty. And this unit can be serviced if there is a failure. The unit shuts off after humidity in basement drops 3 points below desired humidity level (mine set to 55 so turns off at 52) and then resamples the air an hour later. Unit is working well after 2 weeks of service, easy to install and uses gravity to drain into a basement sink. Unit is a bit loud when compressor runs but I guess that's what it takes to efficiently dehumidify the air. I can recommend this dehumidifier if you can afford it, but you only buy quality once.
